Prof. Dr. Moghees A. Baig is a dedicated health professional and surgeon with a keen interest in excellence in education and surgery. He is currently working as Dean and Principal, University College of Dentistry, The University of Lahore. He did Masters in Oral Surgery from the University of London, the UK, followed by Fellowships in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from the Royal College of Australia & Ireland. He worked at the Royal London Medical and Dental College followed by the Teachings Hospitals of Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Started Post Graduate programs of Saudi Board in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery along with the training for Fellowship Examinations of the Royal Colleges in the Gulf. Worked as a visiting faculty for North Atlantic College in Qatar, he is a fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Academy of Oral Medicine.
He has multiples publications to his credit National and International Journals. He is currently an Examiner and Supervisor of the Master of Dental Surgery program at the University of Lahore and fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His interest in Medical Education goes back to the early days of its recognition in Health Care Professionals, starting from the resident training for the Royal College Examinations since more than thirty years ago. He has kept pace with the changes in Health Care Education systems as they involved in the last three decades and always translated them to the ground while teaching both Undergraduate and Post Graduate students.
He is the one who first started the implementation of an integrated Curriculum at the University College of Medicine and Dentistry and has pioneered the development of a modular curriculum in Dentistry at the University of Lahore. The first batch taught through this curricular has passed out this year and will start their Internship at the University Hospital. He is a reviewer of various international journals and various faculty development programs at this College for all staff members.
